I loved meeting this beautiful Austin family.  They have the gift of good health this Christmas and their daughter Adrei is able to follow her passion and play the piano and guitar.  In the not too distant past, she was unable to do this because her hands were so wet.

1 Year after Micro ETS - No more Facial Blushing Burning

How life dramatically changed over this past year after having Micro ETS treatment for severe blushing/burning of the face:
" I can honestly say this surgery was well worth it. Anyone suffering from facial blushing knows how difficult social situations can be. The surgery has absolutely changed my life. No more anxiety in social situations, major confidence boost, and overall I'm a much happier person. Dr. Nielson is the best there is." "Very Satisfied and no compensatory sweating."

Watch tonight at 10

Tonight is the night!  Dr. David Nielson and Makayla, a Churchill High School student whose life was changed for the better will be featured tonight on News 4 WOAI at ten!

The segment is by anchor Evy Ramos.  Here is a behind the scenes look while Evy is interviewing Makayla and the photographer is shooting video.  Makayla underwent Micro-ETS surgery.  Dr. Nielson is the only surgeon on the world who performs this minimally invasive surgery, where the incision is very small, twelfth of an inch, and he doesn't collapse the lungs or damage surrounding tissue.  Patients can usually go home hours after the surgery.  Makayla suffered from hyperhidrosis, a condition that caused her to have severely sweaty, wet hands.

Here is a shot of Dr. Nielson and Evy talking.  He's talking about how patients come from around the world to undergo his minimally invasive procedure.  In fact, a patient is travelling to San Antonio from China soon for the surgery.

The interview went great and Evy says the story is ready for air tonight December 8th at 10:00.  We will of course post a link to this story.  We hope this story helps people know that they don't have to suffer from severe blushing and or sweaty hands/feet.  Micro-ETS is also for Raynaud syndrome.  There is a minimally invasive option right here in SA!

As for Makayla, she is dancing and playing the clarinet in the Churchill High School band.  Her mother says the surgery was a great experience and that Makala is thriving.  This video is of Makayla this last weekend at the Churchill High School playoff game.  We are cheering for you Makayla!

1 Day After MicroETS (Warm & Dry Hands)

Today, one day following MicroETS in San Antonio, TX, my patient from New York reports her sense of touch is "Normal", like it had been 10 years ago.  Fingertips are pink, warm and dry while yesterday morning they were pale white/blue, cold, quite numb and moist.
She is beyond excited and in minimal pain with a great appetite.
She went out to dinner last night and even did some light shopping with minimal pain and a good appetite.
So many things have changed for the better already in her life.

Here are photos of before and 1 day after MicroETS:

Makayla's Inspiring Story

Mikayla, left, at the Churchill High School Playoff game this weekend.
Mikayla left, with friends on the field at the game.

We are so excited to share with you the story of Makayla.   She recently underwent the Micro ETS surgery for hyperhidrosis and now can play the clarinet worry free! Once her sweaty hands held her back. But now she plays in the Churchill High School marching band!  Makayla was able to perform this weekend in Churchill's playoff game here in San Antonio. Even though Churchhill didn't win, the football team advanced farther in the playoffs than they had in 20 years, her mother says. And for this family they are still celebrating how well Makayla is doing.

Her mother says that Dr. David Nielson's website was "a godsend" because they didn't know where else to turn.

"Once we came into the clinic and talked to Dr. Nielson and the Clinic manager Peggy, we knew this one-of-kind minimally invasive surgery was the best solution for Makayla.  It has made all the difference in the world!"   Hyperhidrosis-usa.com

Soon, San Antonio will know Makayla's story.  KMOL-News Four's Evy Ramos will share Dr. Nielson and Makayla's inspiring story this Thursday night in their 10 o'clock newscast.  More to come including video from this game! We continue to cheer you on Makayla and we are so happy for you!

Cold hands warmed after MicroETS

A 29 year old woman from New York experienced warming of her cold pale-blue fingers this morning in San Antonio after I performed MicroETS through a single 1/12th inch incision per underarm, without collapsing her lungs and not having to dissect the nerve out (dig the nerve out from the chest wall tissue), but rather, precise cut of the nerve with a 2 mm micro endo scissors.  Her fingers immediately changed from pale-blue to pink and warm.  In the recovery room she commented that she could now feel things like normal with her fingers.
